I took her to the GI doctor around Monday or Tuesday because I wanted to find out why she constantly spits up.....so we went to Kosair and there were tests being done..she was on the IV for about 24 hours so she couldn't spit that up, so she gained almost a pound. Without waiting for the results of the test (which said it takes forever for stomach to process the contents and she DOES have reflux) they contacted CPS, claiming that I was at fault for her weight problem. If I brought her there for that very reason, wouldn't you think that I was TRYING to help her and not the cause for her "failure to thrive"? Now they have medical documents that say she DOES have medical problems that cause it, and nobody apologized for contacting CPS without ruling out the medical stuff first. Now I am at home and gotta wait for a visit from some stupid idiot to question me on my parenting and crap. I have all the medical files showing what was wrong, a list of all the professionals that visit and know I do what I can, and when this lady/guy shows up...I'll be ready to shove the files in their face and tell them to go to hell. But in a nice way, of course. Regina has had 3 BM's today, which is a rarity, and she has only spat up a little bit today. Life is alright, and it will be grand when I've dealt with the damn CPS people.

Like I said to the doctors and nurses: If I was the reason for her problem to gain weight, wouldn't I be against having several therapists (Physical, Speech, Developmental, Dietician, Occupational, Family) come into our home and check her weight and development? Wouldn't I have stayed home instead of taking her to a specialist and then the hospital for tests?

Also, if I brought her in BECAUSE she was having problems gaining weight, wouldn't you try to find out why she was constantly spitting up? The nurses had to change her bedding a million times, the people in Radiology doing X-rays had to help me because she spat up ALL over me and I was almost in tears trying to clean us both up, and I had to change her clothes and gowns quite frequently due to her constant spitting up. Why would you try to blame the parent KNOWING that there is visual proof that she can't keep down much food? The main doctor that was assigned to her tried to claim that they were trying to follow protocol, that they were trying to rule out ALL possibilities, but if they were trying to rule out all possibilities, wouldn't you wait to see how the medical tests come back first before jumping at the chance to call CPS? I am in no way shape or form worried or afraid of CPS visiting....I have never received a complaint or visit from CPS, and it is because the people that see us both on a regular basis know that I do what I need to do and then some. The issue that I have is this: I feel like it's a slap in the face, all of the hoops that I jump through, all of the therapists I have requested to come in our home, the endless appointments I take her to, etc....it feels that all of the things that I do to give her what she needs and more has amounted to nothing. I did what I was supposed to do as a parent...I took her to the doctor to get her the medical care she needs....and this is what I get in return??? I did what I was supposed to, and I feel like this is some punishment, and it feels totally ass-backwards. Ugh

Anyway. I hope to get this person out off our hair so that I can continue to focus on Regina's needs, and not on proving that I am an outstanding parent.

My suggestion? Anytime you take your child to the hospital for ANY reason whatsoever, be prepared with a list of ALL personal or professional people that can tell them in any case that you do what you are supposed to. If it is a case of your child not being able to gain as much weight as you would like, bring ALL records of weigh-ins for the past year so that you CAN prove that your child has gained (and, unfortunately, lost) and then gained weight again under your care. Be prepared to prove that your child DOES thrive. These are all necessary steps that you should take so that not only have you covered all of your bases, but they also have solid information to go on in order to better care for your child and to show that you are doing what you are supposed to.

Another suggestion is: Don't go to Kosair Children's Hospital. Not only are they quick to point fingers at the people who are trying to help them, but the care that THEY give is shameful and pathetic. One night Regina was messing with the IV thing in her arm, and I called the nurse and asked for their assistance....They said they would send someone right down. We waited about 45 minutes or so before wrapping a diaper around it....We walked out for about 10 minutes and when we came back, the nurse had yet to show up. When Regina spat up one morning, I asked them for help, and they said they'd be right there....I waited for quite a while and ended up taking off the dirty bedding myself and the nurse NEVER came to put fresh sheets down.

*End Rant*

Personal Blog; Controversial.

I was looking through my online guide to record some stuff for after the Olympics..and I stumbled upon a true gem. The NAACP IMAGE AWARDS. Basically, the NAACP feel that although there have been several black people who have won awards along the years, and they want the chance to be created equal.....so they now have an award show SPECIFICALLY and SOLELY for African-Americans. Way to segregate yourselves from all other races. It's wonderful to know that all the fighting and taking a stand against not being allowed somewhere because of the color of your skin has all amounted to: many many different races not being allowed somewhere because of the color of their skin.
I would love to see all hell break loose if someone decided to create an awards show specifically for white people. It'd be so different then. You can't even deny it. You can't ask for special treatment if your ancestors have fought, and you have fought, for equality. You can't pick both at different times. both brands are sadly getting the plug this year. Proctor & Gamble who owns Max Factor has already started the process. It won't be sold in the U.S. anymore. Actually the brand has been hit hard over the past three years. I'm surprised though because the beauty line is so affordable. It will still continue to be sold internationally though where it does much better. Estee Lauder, parent company of Prescriptives, which has cited the brand as one of their least profitable brands, is slated to pull Prescriptives off shelves on February 1, 2010. Estee Lauder owns many big-name brands like Clinique and M-A-C to name a few.

But I've got good news for you Max Factor lovers and Prescriptives devotees! You've got time to stock up. Drugstore.com has inventory on both lines. They've even got this special offer: Spend $35 on Prescriptives and get a free travel-sized Super Line Preventor Xtreme (through January 31, 2010).

Shop below! I've highlighted the top-selling products for each brand, which will be helpful to those of you who have never tried the brands. In my research, I've discovered that women love the Max Factor Erase, which helps conceal dark circles and flaws, and also, the Prescriptives 'All You Need+ SPF 15 Moisturizer, so don't miss those!

I hate the fact that such a cheap and good cosmetic like such as Max Factor is being discontinued. It's ridiculous...but I guess that is life.

On a side note, tonight was the last episode of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, and he took 5 minutes before Will Ferrell was on to say a few things about how grateful he is, a message to his fans, etc. and I started crying. I've never really seen him get that serious for that long and he actually choked up. I love that guy. My denial is over, I'm going to have to wait until at least September to see him on tv again. *le sigh*

It's been good, Coco.

New Must Haves!

I look at a billion blogs a day, and I have seen many different products that everyone is going nuts over! Here are the select few that I would LOVE to try out myself:

Nars Illuminator:

It's a 1.1oz tube that you can get at Sephora for $29. I saw many people at the Golden Globes who wore it, including Christina Aguilera. You can even put it on your shoulder blades, neck, etc. Just use it in the right amounts!

The new Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden. This is supposed to be a more flesh-toned color, so you can use it even as a semi-concealer! You can purchase at Sephora for $18, it is in a 0.34oz tube.

I have tried the UDPP in Sin, and love it. I might not like the flesh-toned color...but you can't know until you try it. So check it out.

DKNY has a collection of LIMITED EDITION Candied Apple Fragrances. The green is Sweet Caramel, Red is Ripe Raspberry, and Purple is Juicy Berry. You can purchase them at Sephora for $55, and they come in a 1.7oz bottle. These sound delicious, but you can't eat them unless you don't like your teeth! ;)

Benefit has a new eye primer out called "Say, don't Stray.". I heard that it was a good formula, but sucky packaging. You have to be very careful not to squirt the pump too fast, or it might ooze out too much. You only need a tiny bit to make it work, so don't overdo it and you will be fine. I don't think I would want to spend my money on this, as I already adore my UDPP and am set in my ways, but this might be very good for travel! It is sold for $24 at Sephora.

The Clarisonic is a fantastic new way to cleanse your face in a much better way. I'm not sure of the exact price, but you can probably do a search for it on google. I heard that as long as you don't use it every single day, you will be good to go. Let your skin rest for a day or two in between, and you will be fine.

Two Perfume Reviews:

I'm sure a lot of you have heard all the hype about Kim Kardashian's new perfume, and a few people have told me that it smells too "dark".....and I decided to try it out when flipping through In Style magazine. I rubbed it on my skin and took a big whiff. Horrible idea. It was way too overwhelming.

The notes in the perfume are:
Mandarin, Honey Suckle, Orange Blossom, Pink Jasmine, Tuberose, Sensual Spice, Lush Gardenia, Jacaranda Wood, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Orchid, Sexy Musk, Creamy Sandalwood.

What in the hell was she thinking, using so many floral scents? When I looked up the information for the perfume, I read this:

"Kardashian told WWD the she and sister Kourtney used to throw flowers from outside in a blender when they were little because that's how she thought perfume was made. Now she's got some help with Lighthouse Beauty to do perfume the right way!"

Well, she most certainly threw a bazillion flowers in the mix and hit blend. That's exactly what it smells like! I suggest that if you want to clear a room, go buy this at sephora.com for a whopping $65 (full sized is 65 bucks. Everything else ranges from $15 to $50.)

If, however, you want to still smell the floral loveliness, but not seem as though you just went to a greenhouse and dumped all the flowers on top of you and grinded it into your skin, check out Sarah Jessica Parker's lovely new perfume, SJP NYC.

Here is the information for said perfume:

Notes include mandarin, white osmanthus, strawberry, gardenia, honeysuckle, mimosa, rose, sandalwood, vanilla absolute, rum flavor and creamy musks and was developed by Parker in collaboration with perfumer Honorine Blanc.
The collection consists of three sizes of the eau de toilette — 15 ml. for $25, 30 ml. for $35 and 60 ml. for $49.

A lot cheaper that Kim's perfume, the smell is subtly floral and the bottle is cute!

Conan O'brien's Decision:

Conan O'brien was met with a serious decision to make late last week in order to accommodate Jay Leno's time change. He was asked to decide whether or not he would accept to be pushed back to 12:05 on The Tonight Show so that Jay Leno would have an earlier time. If any of you follow the Wonderful Conan (Coney, CoCo) O'brien, then you would know that not only has he already changed in a time slot once recently, he also completely swapped shows and now the not-so-wonderful Jimmy Fallon is in his previous position.

I believe that by requesting a legend such as the wonderful Coney to switch back and forth over and over again to fit other comedic hosts' schedule, it is a complete and total slap in the face. Conan O'brien has been around for as long as I can remember, and although he is not as old as Leno or Letterman, I find him far more amusing and entertaining. I think it is a complete disrespect to the person to ask for them to be pushed back so that other people in a similar position can fit in an earlier slot.

So, without further ado, I give you Conan O'brien's letter to all those wondering what is REALLY going on:

People of Earth:
In the last few days, I’ve been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I’ve been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I’ve been absurdly lucky. That said, I’ve been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.
Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.
Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.
So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy hosting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably hard and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of The Tonight Show. But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more.
There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.
Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it’s always been that way.
Yours,
Conan

I think that this letter was mild compared to what I would be saying about those NBC douchebag's. Let us hope and pray that Conan is offered a much more reasonable time slot from a much better network than what will soon be deceased (Without Conan, there IS no network.), NBC.

So Smexy...

New Stuff:

Every once in a while, I will talk about products that are brand new or products that are going to release soon. The smell of Sultana is SO overwhelming, that it actually transferred its scent to my first Porridge, I Should Coco and HIWTC, so I couldn't even tell what they all smelled like. After airing them all out, I found that Sultana was the reason for the nose-confusion. I hate the smell, but since I bought it, I wanted to try it out. The smell is less BAM!POW! when you rinse it off your skin. I like it much better on my skin than sniffing the soap itself. I think that some hairs in my nose actually burnt to a crisp when sniffing Sultana, but that might just be my imagination. Nevertheless, I don't plan on buying it again, but I am ok with using it until it disappears. My skin is soft, and that is the only plus.

My suggestion, if you like really gross smells, go buy this. In fact, buy the entire lot, no matter what country it's in...that way, when I go to the LUSH store, I won't be met by this unpleasant smell.

My Rating: 1/5

Personal Blog

I'm so glad I decided to re-watch The big Kahuna......In any given Kevin Spacey movie, there is always some deeper meaning than the simple plotline. The discussions on religion and the way Danny DeVito tells the new guy that he is just as much of a marketing rep for steering a conversation with a potential client towards Jesus and such was SO undeniably true. You can have a personal relationship with Jesus/God, but the second that you walk out your door and start conversations with people about Jesus/God, you are essentially marketing something/someone. You asking someone about how they are feeling, their family, etc. is MUCH more personal, and MUCH more genuine. Try asking someone how their day is and get in depth about their life, instead of focusing on saving a person. You might just find that they are happy the way they are. Religion is a topic that you bring up way later down the line. Otherwise, you might just alienate the person, or look like you are looking down on them for their lack of religion. Try getting to know the person for who they are, not for how often they pray or go to church.

REVIEW: LUSH Strawberry Feels Massage Bar

I received (among many others) Strawberry Feels today, and am not disappointed at all! I prefer to deal with pampering myself BY myself. The smell is delicious, and it lasts a while. I would definitely go out of my way to buy this again.

This massage bar includes: Cocoa butter, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Fresh Strawberries, Glycerine, Olibanum Oil, Bergamot Oil, Geranium Oil, Hibiscus Flower, Limonene, Linalool, D&C Red 30.

My thoughts: You must go out and get it! It costs $8.95 +taxes for a 2.6 oz bar.

Five Stars!

REVIEW: LUSH Let Them Eat Cake Balm

I had not yet found anything that could compare to the smoothness of my favorite balm, Burt's Bees, but recently discovered a stinky and creamy version: LUSH's Let Them Eat Cake.

The stuff smells horrible and weird, but it went on my lips VERY smooth. I loved the feel of it on my lips. The smoothness of it might be mistaken as greasy, but I think that it was just right with the consistency and texture. When I first looked inside, I thought that it would be gritty from the little bumps inside, but it wasn't at all! The smell takes some getting used to, but I think that this balm is right at the top next to my Burt's Bees!

Let Them Eat Cake contains: Orange and lemons, currants and sultanas, vanilla and sherry.

My thoughts: If you want to fork out $7.95 + tax for a 0.3oz tin of lip balm, I suggest you buy it! The weird smell is worth the smoothness of your lips!

Four Stars!

LUSH Soap Reviews

I'm fairly new to the LUSH world, but I have been excited to try out as much LUSH stuff as possible for over a year. I know, it doesn't seem long, but I spent so many days going to the website and staring at everything longingly. So now is the time where I can finally say that I've tried some! I just hopped out of the shower, and I can say that I am an eager one, because I used not one, not two, but THREE soaps in one sitting- err, standing. I tried Honey I Washed the Kids, Porridge and I Should Coco.

I am not disappointed in it's results.

Porridge:

Not as abrasive as everyone claims it. My skin is ultra sensitive, seeing as how I was born with Psoriasis. With that said, I only had a small sample of Porridge; One would think that if the soap was primarily nuts and oat or whatever, it wouldn't lather that well. I actually found it to be the exact opposite of what I'd expected. It lathered more than the other two soaps combined! For that, I have to say it is a must have! It exfoliated just enough, but had a nice and not so harsh feel to it.

I Should Coco:

Not exactly the best smell in the world, I can't even pinpoint what it smells like, but it grows on you! I don't smell any coconut at all, but maybe once I buy it directly from a LUSH store, it might be more pleasant. The coconut that came off as you rubbed it on your skin wasn't rough at all, like LUSH's website says, so that was good. I like the color of the top of it, and the feel isn't terrible. This lathered a little bit less than Porridge, unfortunately. I would say that if you like coconut and love feeling silky soft after you dry off, it is a Must-Have as well!

Honey I Washed The Kids:

This was probably another factor in my skin feeling silky soft, because it is the most soft-feeling soap I got today. This soap barely lathered up, I was disappointed to find, but the pay-off was great. Maybe next time I will spend more alone time with HIWTC, so I can find out whether HIWTC was the main factor in my skin feeling baby-butt-soft, or if it was Coco. Seeing as how HIWTC is always raved on, I'm sure this soap will definitely be on my list of soaps to re-buy. (I'm definitely going to buy all three from the store next time, to experience the smells better than this mini-haul.)

My suggestion: buy all three if you have the cash, but if you want to save some money, Porridge and HIWTC are good enough together!

Oops...

I totally just realized that the only picture I have of myself in my entries is so fugly! text-align: center;">

Is sometimes very difficult to cope with. There are the moments during the day that I find myself grinning from ear to ear because Regina has done another unexpected adorable thing (bouncing up and down with her toy guitar while the music mode plays, giving me kisses instead of the usual run and hide, etc.)....and then there are moments where I would love to yank my hair out because she is still awake at 1 in the morning screaming and squawking. And of course, I can't forget the constant appointment scheduling, and because of said appointments, I also have to schedule rides to and from through her Passport.

It's an ongoing headache, but thankfully, the moments I first listed come around often enough to continually remind me to take a long breath and remember why I do all of this. I chose to keep this beautiful baby girl for a reason. When even my church tried to push me into giving my daughter up for adoption, I was seconds away from spitting in their face. I had never had a child before, and the father being out of the picture was not going to stop me from facing the inevitably huge responsibility. In the long run, I would reap many rewards, mostly involving my character, morale and ability to take responsibility of someone other than myself. How could I honestly give something like that to a complete and total stranger? I wouldn't trust anyone other than myself to give my daughter everything she needs, not even my mother. No offense, but mother knows best, not grandmother or whoever else that claims they can handle it.

While I was pregnant with Regina, I never had a clue what I was in for. The doctor I went to did not do enough testing and didn't even give me more than one ultrasound! I didn't know Regina had Down Syndrome until AFTER she was born. When she was born, I believe (from what I remember...I had an epidural and forgot to keep pushing the button....so I was still in a lot of pain) my blood pressure dropped so much that they had to put an oxygen mask on my face. They immediately took Regina out of the room and when someone came back to give me the status, they told me she was going to need to be transferred over to Kosair Children's Hospital. They said that she needed to be hooked up to oxygen, given antibiotics, put under a billy light, be fed through a tube, etc. etc. She was in the NICU for 20 days.

When they told me that she had Down Syndrome, I was just happy to hear that she was alive and breathing, even with a little bit of assistance. The nurses told the friends that had taken me to the hospital that they didn't think I understood the full extent of Regina's disability. I was disgusted. My daughter had a disability, but was not physically impaired, blind, deaf, etc. etc., so she was NORMAL in my eyes. My youngest brother, Toby (short for Tobias), is borderline Autistic, so I believe to this day that that was what prepared me for Regina's disability. I think that it was fate. Whether it be God's will or just the world's way of preparing me, I am still happy that I got to experience a lot of the same with my brother so that I could be a more patient and more loving and more understanding mother. That is why I didn't want to give her away. Because I knew that at some point or another, I was going to be given the opportunity to teach someone else how to sit, stand, walk, talk, stand up for themselves, and to be whoever they want to be. Fortunately, I had a tough childhood. I say fortunately because I knew growing up that I would raise my child completely different. I would stand by my child no matter what, and support her in any way possible.

This past March, in 2009, Regina had to go in for open heart surgery. That was probably the hardest thing I ever had to go through/deal with in my entire life, besides her time spent in the NICU. She had her surgery on the same day as Robin Williams (little random fact...I found it very weird because her surgery originally was a different day, but when they rescheduled, it was on the same day he had his heart surgery...). I didn't think it was going to be as hard as it really was. I had no idea what I was in for. I was in the waiting room for hours on end, and then she was transferred to the ICU. When I first walked into that room.....I dropped everything, some stuff fell on the floor and I didn't care because I was in so much shock from what I saw in front of me. My daughter, lying there, hooked up to everything under the sun, her skin orange from the disinfectant...stitches from the GI tubes...I was horrified...and I immediately started crying. I don't even remember if I showered while I stayed there, I was so worried about her. When she finally came to, because of the tube they had down her throat for so long, her cries were so heart wrenching....I had never heard her cry like that before, and never want to again. We were in that hospital for about a week or so.

I have been writing for a good 30 minutes to an hour, so I will write more later. I hope you all enjoy this story, as it comes from my heart and I mean every word.

Apparently she wants to be a model, gymnast AND musician! ;)

Seeya!

*~Paloma~*

Motherly Post

So, about 5 O'clock this morning, I had to wake up and pack some stuff for my daughters surgery. Regina was to get tubes put in her ears in order to drain out any fluids. We got there at around 5:45, and they took us into a room at around 6:15 or so. About 6 different people came in to ask the same questions over and over (allergies, if she'd eaten, etc. etc.) and at around 7 or 7:10ish, they gave Regina this medicine to make her all loopy. She started choking on the liquid, and at first, the nurse who gave it to her tried to play it off like it was just her reaction to the bad taste. Riiiiiight. So if Regina is coughing/gagging so many times that there is no time in between for her to breath, I believe that is called choking. Anywho, with or without the nurses agreement, I immediately started patting her on the back until she started breathing properly. One of the other ladies who was going to help with the surgery came in, and I was weirded out by the faces she was making. When she walked in, she had all teeth bared, almost as though she had tasted something funky or was trying to get her teeth whitened or something....it was a weird looking smile or something, and until she left the room, that was the expression she made the entire time. It was probably a medical condition or something, but I was like O_o Anyways, when Regina came out from the recovery room at around 8-8:15, she was still pretty out of it so I laid her gently in the car seat and we left. We stopped at Burger King for some breakfast and when we got home, we all passed out. I didn't get to sleep last night til around 2-2:30.....so it was a fun morning ;)

All is ok...I have given Regina some Tylenol drops, and other than the point before I gave her the drops when she was whining every time I gave her a spoonful of oatmeal, she was alright.

REVIEWS: Jeans and Detangler

Dereon Ds Studded Skinny Jeans:

I bought the Dereon Studded Skinny Jeans, and although they were supposed to be my size, the waist is a little small for a supposed size 16 pair of jeans. I loved the comfortable feel on my legs, as I am pretty used to bootcut, I adored the snug fit around my legs for once. I found out after a few minutes of wearing, that the studs kept falling off. I then examined the area to find that the studs are added with a cheap glue. Whoever designed these jeans did NOT think ahead. They should have added studs that went through the fabric, and had some material covering the parts on the inside. With that said, if they are putting big price tags on these clothes, then they should go the extra mile to prevent the quality from being compared to Walmart clothes. Maybe Beyonce should also consider sticking to music.
Rating: 1 Star.

Johnson's Buddies Detangler:

I had already tried the No-Slip Soap with my daughter, and adore the conditioner, and decided to try this spray. I was loving the smell and the shape/color of the bottle. I was eager to try this new spray because Regina, my daughter, gets really tangly hair in the back and she gets mad when I try to tame it. I sprayed it on and as I tried to comb through, I regretted forking over the extra money for this top brand. It didn't work. I hated it. I ended up buying some from Loreal and Suave, WAY cheaper, and it worked much better. Don't waste your time trying to find it, and don't waste your money on this. You can get better.
Rating: 1/2 Star

REVIEWS: Continued Lipgloss Attack!

CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers: I was kind of disappointed by the taste of "Guava Splash", but I hope that the other flavors are at least half good. I am not a big fan of the sticky-ness on my lips, but the color is amazing, and I am glad that I purchased this. I believe it is shot either with a pink NYX lipstick, or with MAC's Pink Poodle gloss. Either way, it looks amazing. If you want the gloss to stay for a decent period of time, the stickiness probably helps with that. If you prefer a smooth feel, then a lipglass is much better. Pink Poodle is a wonderful shade of pink, and you can always mix it with something else to get a nice glittery look with the wonderful pouty pink.

Price: $18.00 @ MAC Cosmetics
Rating: *** Three Stars!

I'm Late....

Happy Belated Christmas!!!!!! This is pretty darn cheap, so I was afraid that I wouldn't get what I aimed for but glad I didn't fork out that much cash for it. I bought it for my daughter. Her hair gets SO tangled in the back and she hates when I brush her hair, because it hurts her. So I had been testing a few sprays, and when I tried this one out....I loved it! The smell isn't overpowering, and I didn't have to tug on the brush in order to get it through her hair. If you liberally spray your child's hair with this, then you will get the pay off. Don't be afraid! It comes in a whopping 10.5 fl oz. bottle, so it's not like you're wasting anything. Your child will thank you, and look much more adorable. She is my world, and she happens to have Down Syndrome. This makes my...OUR world, a little bit more complicated. With that said, she is a wonderful little girl, first and foremost. I am starting this blog to show just how different each child, Down Syndrome or not, can be. Regina may be loving, but she also has other sides to her. The goofball, the adventurer, the gymnast, the bratty little kiddo, and the sweetie pie. I will also be talking about about everyday stresses that come with being a mother, single woman, dealing with crazy roommates, and a clueless landlord. We as parents need to find a common bond OTHER than our children, and need to identify what separates us from some parents as well as some childless people. We are individuals. All of us. Children, Parents, People in general. We must find something in ourselves that make us burst with joy when we are not with our kids. If we cannot find something that makes us that happy, then what happens when our children leave home and/or go to college? I hope that you're prepared for the crazy and bumpy ride that is my life, and could very well be just what you are going through at this very moment. so, how about it, are you ready?

Welcome!

My name is Paloma, and I live in Kentucky. Reviews, as well as life updates.

I currently am a part of a website called Bzzagent.com, which sends out information and samples on new products for you to share with friends and family. I will probably do reviews for their stuff on here as well.

I am, unfortunately, not paid for the reviews I do. I have plenty of time to spare, so if you would like for me to review something, I will take it upon serious consideration.
